    Vessel: Deep Space

Vessel Deep Space is a horror sci fi shooter game developed by Me and Adam Engleman. The goal of this game was to give users a fun extraction game experience and to win gold in the skillsUSA Idaho state competitions, which it did. The whole game was developed in Unreal Engine 5 because of the graphics potential UE5 allows.

During the project, we ran into the issue of the game settings not saving changes once you entered a level. We tried multiple ways around this but we eventually found that using the instance of the game, we could keep data moving between any level. This allows for settings to save correctly and aided in future data transfers between levels

    RotTube

RotTube was a social media website built for the average MTCHS student who wanted to share whatever dumb video they found on the internet. Developed by just myself, I used simple tools and languages like VS code along with HTML, CSS, and PHP.

The greatest challenge during development was displaying a random video to the viewer. I needed the website to select a randomly uplaoded video from the server files and I struggled to find a way how through php. Eventually I figured out that the solution was in the HTML. By setting up a display system that would play a base video, I could then use one small php function to change the base video to what I wanted.

    LEGION

LEGION was a turn-based strategy game developed by myself. The entire project was completed using just Java. LEGION provides the player with a small base that they can move out from to gather resources and improve, allowing them to eventually find the enemy base to win the game. Harder levels involve the enemy base trying to find and attack you.

The hardest part of LEGION's development was the map. The game map would often have bugs stopping the player from exploring the edges of the map. Also, paths would occasionally be enabled. This was all solved by a changing of the map size and scale. This allowed for less collisions between what spaces the path's allowed you to move to and the sides to be enabled

    SkillsUSA State Office

Becoming a SkillsUSA state officer has given me the ability to grow no matter how difficult or new my role/task is. Although I started off a struggling sophomore, I have grown into a capable leader who is excellent at balancing a team's strengths and weaknesses so we can work as best as we can together, while still having a fun time doing it

What have I done through SkillsUSA?

The biggest accomplishments I have done within SkillUSA are the events I helped run for our members. I created hours of learning and entertainment activities so we could teach our chapters how to run themselves. I helped run and give speeches during idaho's SkillsUSA state competitions which allows for hundreds of competitors to improve themselves and show off their talents to their respective industries. All of the things I've done in SkillsUSA have made me an excellent employee and leader, while also helping all of our members at the same time
    Web Dev Tutoring

In 2024, from October to December, I tutored a sophomore from my school in Web Development. I taught them lots of skills used in basic web development such as flexbox, grid, div, and much more. Along with that, I helped them study for the final test. Through good encouragement, quality study material, and good studying techniques, I was able to help them pass their test.
